Kitchen Tiling

If not working on a new-build, we will start by removing old tiles. If there is only light damage on walls the adhesive will be able to rectify it easily, however if there is heavy damage ie. the plaster is wet or very old then we would have to strip back to the brick or block and bond it out with new plaster. This will make the job a lot longer due to drying time of plaster.

Next we would ensure all work surfaces are level before setting out the tiles.

Quite often we find that with kitchens the room has been extended therefore floor levels can differ. We can rectify this by using a self levelling compound and adding granite chippings. If the floor is a wooden floor this must be made as rigid as possible to reduce floor movement, as flexible adhesive can only cope with the slightest of movements. In this situation we would highly recommend using a good quality flexible grout.

When we begin any project we always visualise the end result before we begin. The key is always in the setting out and preparation of the surface.

We know kitchens come in all shapes, sizes and conditions so give us a call and we can work together to provide the best solution for you.
